Asia Business Report is a business news programme produced by the BBC and is shown on BBC World News during the Asian morning hours. This programme used to be available exclusively in Asia Pacific, South Asia and Middle East but, as of a February 1, 2010 revamp, is now aired worldwide. It is also currently aired on the UK's domestic BBC News (TV channel) channel 3 times daily in the early hours of the morning as part of the Newsday programme.

It is broadcast from the BBC's Singapore bureau which is in the central business district(CBD) of Singapore. The main presenters are Rico Hizon (Monday-Thursday) and Sharanjit Leyl (Friday). Mishal Husain once presented this programme but has since returned to Britain to present the main BBC News bulletin for BBC World News.

BBC World World Business Report Jan 4 Chinese Railways China bought 60 highspeed trains from Germany and is expected to buy 60 more from Japan in the coming year as part of an ambitious plan to build the countrys first highspeed rail network. It will invest 250 bn$ in its railways in the next 15 years alone. Its all designed to ease the congestion which is caused by the countrys economic boom. Simon Littlewood, President of Asia Now Quotes: Chinas railways are unable to meet about 60% of demand so the demand is definitely there. Plus of course theres a double digit economic growth year after year. On the negative side, anyone that is going to put 250$bn or even a portion of that into infrastructure in China will want to know that the pricing and regulatory mechanisms are in place to ensure that they can make a profit. Currently they do not exist so there is a long journey to be made before foreign investors are likely to put their money.

BBC Asia Business Report Airbus in China Dec 5 Chinas set to seal a high profile deal with Airbus Another landmark deal for European aircraft maker Airbus. China will reportedly sign a big order later today for at least 100 Airbus A320 jets. The contract is worth about USD 7bn. Chinas fast-growing travel industry is growing by double digits annually the country has become the major battle ground for Airbus and rival Boeing which currently holds about 60% of the Chinese market. Simon Littlewood, President of Asia Now quotes, The new facility will be complementary to rather than replace anything in France and Germany. Theres a significant amount of components being sourced from Chinese manufacturers so the idea will be to achieve synergies by assembling the bits that are sourced in China, within China, rather than sending them all in France then sending them back again in China."
