Albany County New York Video

This video documents the experience of flying in the B-17 Flying Fortress bomber, Liberty Belle. The plane took off from Chester County Airport in Coatesville, Pennsylvania and landed at Albany International Airport in New York. Three years after this flight on June 13, 2011 the plane crashed after takeoff from Aurora airport near Chicago. Seven crew members and volunteers escaped without serious injury. If you go to my youtube channel I have re-rendered this video in HD and with the engine sounds (no music).

Some scenes from the Kingston Tea Party protest, April 15th 2009. About 200 citizens from the Hudson Valley gathered to send a variety of messages to Washington DC and Albany. The protests in Washing DC and larger cities of America have gotten a good deal of press, but many don't realize that many smaller protests were taking place simultaneously all over the United States, in small towns and cities like Kingston. Kingston was the first capital of New York State and seat of the state assembly until 1777, when it was burned to the ground by British forces during the war for independence. The assembly fled to Albany, where it has remained ever since. Music: Humours of Ballyloughlin & Knocknagow (Eileen Ivers).

St. Lawrence County Clerk Patty Ritchie is leading the fight to overturn Albany's latest money grab--a plan to force motorists to replace their perfectly good and functional vehicle license plates in April 2010, at a cost of $25 each. The order will cost state taxpayers $250 million, with the money bing used to pay for more of Democrat-led Albany's wasteful spending. (The state faces a $4 billion-and-growing deficit as a result of overspending in the current budget. Ritchie launched an online petition--and a fury among outraged taxpayers--collecting tens of thousands of signatures within hours of the announcement. The new license plate mandate was approved by just a single vote. Every Upstate Democrat Senator, including the North Country's Darrel Aubertine, Central NY's Dave Valesky, WNY's Bill Stachowski and the two Long Island Democrats, Brian Foley and Craig Johnson, supported the plan. Every Republican voted against it. This report is from Channel 6, WRGB-TV, Albany on 10-22, the date that Ritchie announced the petition drive.
