Yvonne De Carlo (born Margaret Yvonne Middleton; September 1, 1922 - January 8, 2007) was a Canadian-born American actress of film, television, and theater. Her career, which lasted six-decades, rose to prominence when she was contracted at Universal Studios and starred in adventure films, most notably in Salome Where She Danced, in which producer Walter Wanger named her "the most beautiful girl in the world". After the film, success followed in the film noir Criss Cross opposite Burt Lancaster.

Over ten years, De Carlo had developed an on-screen image of portraying exotic women in her previous films. Since then, she had not openly portrayed a serious, humble woman. Director Cecil B. DeMille, when looking for an actress, chose her to star as "Sephora" in The Ten Commandments, after seeing her performance in the film Sombrero. Her role as the wife of Moses's wife highlighted her film career, it was the most awe-inspiring performance that she ever gave in her career. It is still considered one of her best film roles as it was a contrast of her past screen image, and welcomed her to participate in a Cecil B. DeMille film, one of her most grandest wishes since her beginnings at Paramount.

In the late 1950s, her career had averted to a larger number of appearances in television. However in 1964, De Carlo was cast in the CBS television series The Munsters as "Lily Munster", a starring role interpreting a vampire-like matriarch of an normal average family of monsters headed by Fred Gwynne as Herman Munster, Lily's husband. The sitcom enjoyed success, to which De Carlo is also remembered for. Tragically the series lasted only two years, but spawned the Technicolor film Munster, Go Home!, where she also starred in.
