I am a volunteer firefighter in my hometown of Worland, Wyoming. I created this video/slide show as a tribute to the dedicated service that our local fire dept. has served our small community through the years. I used historical pictures and current ones to capture the spirit of WVFD. This one goes out not only for my WVFD brothers & sisters, but for all those volunteers that put others before themselves. You may have learned in school that the Johnson County War involved a group of hardworking cattlemen taking matters into their own hands to stop rustlers who the fledgling government had been unable to control. But there is another side to this story. In the most recent account of this infamous and violent conflict, Mr. Davis proposes that the Johnson County War was an invasion by mercenaries, hired by Wyoming cattle barons to kill settlers who were trying to make a living on the land.
