Winnemucca (c-eniconˌwɪnəˈmʌkə) is a city in and the county seat of Humboldt County, Nevada, United States. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 7,174. Interstate 80 passes through the city, where it meets U.S. Route 95.

Winnemucca is featured prominently in the novel Revoltingly Young by C.D. Payne, and is also a setting in More Tales of the City by Armistead Maupin. The city is also referenced in the North American version of the song "I've Been Everywhere." The song begins, "I was totin' my pack along the dusty Winnemucca road."

According to a billboard spotted along State Route 140 (the "Winnemucca To the Sea Highway"), Winnemucca styles itself "The City of Paved Streets."

Winnemucca is home to the Buckaroo Hall of Fame and Heritage Museum.

Winnemucca, Nevada Video

*low volume. Part 1 of a series done by Ed Pierce regarding the murder of Glenn Wasson at the Winnemucca Shoshone-Paiute Indian Colony of Nevada. This is a cold case murder that has never been solved with many intriguing aspects, including Indian gaming, a proposed casino in California, struggle for control over thousands of dollars, BIA and FBI inaction, and other things. Hopefully one day this cold case murder of a great Native American Indian leader will be solved. Shoshone and Paiute Nevada

**Some folks have complained about the volume of the music, and I agree. My apologies. I added that at "the last minute" and didn't spend the time necessary to make sure it didn't drown out my narrative. I'll be more careful in the future!** With this video I complete my examination of Nephilimfree's assertion regarding the existence of giant human beings as reported in the Bible. This is just a fun report on what I learned, almost as an aside, when I decided to track down certain claims that I found on 'net and that I suspected gave Nephy the confidence to assert that giant human remains had indeed been found but were "covered up" by a larger conspiracy headed by institutions such as the Smithsonian and National Geographic. With this piece, we should be able to stick a fork in Nephy; he's done. Additionally, right before I uploaded this video I got a message from a terrific subscriber, cerebulon, who told me he'd watched my original video examining Nephy's Giant Conspiracy and, ironically, believed he'd found what Nephy had been referring to: the "giant" remains from Lovelock. He had no idea I had just completed working this same angle! He graciously offered to send me the info he'd uncovered. Although I had already finished my video, if his source was able to supply more information I certainly wanted to look at it. While I didn't end up using his source in the video, I want to reproduce what he sent me here. I think you'll find it a wonderful addendum to the film ...

Nikon Coolpix 880 video clip taken during a drive from the Sierraville/Lake Tahoe/Highway 89 exit on Interstate 80 to winnemucca, Nevada in May 2008. Sound track is the Scottish Tenor Doug Bryson, singing Una furtiva lagrima (A furtive tear), the romanza taken from Act II, Scene VIII of the Italian opera, L'elisir d'amore by Gaetano Donizetti. In the opera, the character Nemorino sings the aria when he finds that the love potion he's bought to win his dream ladys heart, Adina, works.
