William Cameron Sproul (September 16, 1870 � March 21, 1928) was the 27th Governor of Pennsylvania from 1919 to 1923. He was born near Octoraro and Andrew's Bridge, Colerain Township, Lancaster County. He was born in a structure currently known as the John Douglass House He served as a member of Pennsylvania State Senate from 1897 to 1919, when he was elected Governor. He was a candidate for the Republican presidential nomination in 1920. He was a member of the Religious Society of Friends. Sproul State Forest in Clinton and Centre counties is named for him. |
