Terry Prince's love for racing and Vincent motorcycles started In 1950 when Terry's father took him, then 12 years old, to watch the Brighton speed trails, where George Brown was riding his Vincent-powered special, NERO. It was a day that was to affect the rest of young Terry's life. At the age of 16 Terry bought his first Vincent that he still races today. This Londoner embarked on a life's work of engineering and manufacturing high performance parts for Vincent motorcycle racing. Terry was an engineer for Fritz Egli, where he helped to create the Egli Vincent. The TPV was inspired by those machines. Now living in Australia for the past 30 years Terry owns and operates Classic Motor Bikes a high performance shop that people from around the world get their parts for racing.

Galloway (NZ) where I lived_ and Burt Munro almost didn't Well at least - with regards to the ONE_MILE STRAIGHT... Burt came UP - from Invercargill, for the inauguaral running (or the 2nd - I forget which) Doesn't matter - as it was of the Vincent Motor Cycle Clubs - 1974 Standing Quarter Mile events & sprints... I know & remember that ruddy cold mid winters day - (realy well). I "entered" my Suzuki RV-125 in the 125cc "race" (&) As I was the ONLY entrant - i was assured 1st place... That was- until I gloated about this (prior to the race starting) Immediately TWO of my so-called FRIENDS - entered theirs??? Thus - I only got 3rd placing... Well hey - the BOOK said my "rated" top speed was only 55mph & I got 72mph out of it. (Sure - I was RUNNING a hi-speed road_cog on the bike (unlike it's manufacturers fitted - MUDBUG "low geared sprockets") Oh - & a Morris Minor Radial (as I couldn't source the proper tyre from Japan) ... Now- As to "why" Burt almost didn't? (hehehe) Sorry - but it WAS funny He slipped the clutch & the wrong gear & BLEW his "velocetti's gearbox" all across Galloway Straight.. Whilst trying to "out_do" his own speed from an earlier attempt Instantly .. !!! Burt Munro ... Became ??? The World's Slowest Kiwi (that day) .. as it took several of us .. to PUSH his bike .. back to the start line & UP onto his old trailer (hauled by his ? "even_older" ? black_car)

In March 2009 Petrolheads Photography attended and photographed The 59 Club of Australia's 50th Anniversary Burn Up March 2009 from Ferntree Gully in Melbourne. An amazing array of motorcycles were assembled on the day and an incident free run was had by all. A great run through some of Victorias beautiful countryside with a great bunch of people. Well done 59 Club for a well organised, top day.
