Van Zandt County is a county located in the U.S. state of Texas. In 2000, its population was 48,140. Its county seat is Canton . The county is named for Isaac Van Zandt, a member of the Congress of the Republic of Texas.

Until May 2009, Van Zandt County was a completely dry county. On May 9, 2009, the citizens of Wills Point voted to allow beer and wine sales within its limits.
