Tyrone is an Assistant Coach for the Utah Jazz and forner NBA star. He attended the Ben Arnold Boys & Girls Club in Columbia, SC, and still has a fond memory of his experiences there. "It was always good to see how the community embraced the Club in an effort to provide a positive place for kids to go instead of being on the street and, possibly, in trouble. The Club really helped grow kids by exposing them to people and experiences they would not otherwise come into contact with."

Sloan, whose first three years as an NBA coach came with the Chicago Bulls from 1979-80, had a 1221-803 career record and is the only NBA coach to win 1000 games with a franchise. He had been the longest-serving head coach of any of the four major North American pro sports leagues. Also leaving with him was his top assistant coach Phil Johnson. "Nobody pushed Jerry or Phil out," said Jazz owner Greg Miller. "I've loved and respected Jerry for as long as I can remember. I have great respect and admiration for Jerry." Miller said Sloan called a meeting with management earlier today. "All of us in the room threw everything we had at him to get him to stay," Miller said. Said Sloan: "It's not dramatic, not a big deal. It's just time for me to move on." Sloan said he ...
