The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) will begin testing millimeter wave passenger imaging technology at Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport (PHX) as a voluntary alternative to a pat-down during secondary screening. In a matter of seconds, this technology can detect weapons, explosives and other threat items concealed under layers of clothing without physical contact. www.tsa.gov

A plane from New York's La Guardia Airport was diverted to Philadelphia after a teenage passenger put on a religious item disrupting the flight Thursday morning. Authorities say, Chautauqua Airlines flight 3079 from LaGuardia to Louisville was diverted to Philadelphia after a 17-year-old male strapped on a "tefillin" for prayer purposes after takeoff. Sources say a female flight attendant had never seen a tefillin before, which has two small black boxes with black straps attached to them and one box was placed on his head and the other tied to his arm. The attendant became concerned and reported it. The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) says they were notified of a "disruptive passenger" on the plane and as a result was diverted to Philly. The plane that departed LaGuardia at 7:25 am landed in Philadelphia at 8:50 am and the teen and his 16-year-old sister were met by Homeland Security and the Philadelphia Police Bomb Squad. "Per standard procedures, TSA and law enforcement personnel met the flight. The disruptive passenger was interviewed, the plane was swept with negative findings, and the flight is taxiing to the gate," the TSA. The commuter plane operated by Chautauqua Airlines under the US Airways name was occupied by 15 passengers who according to sources were unaware of the incident. No charges have been filed and the plane remains on the ground at Philadelphia International Airport.

Approved for release by the TSA. Edited for content. I left the middle in for emphasis on the length of time involved. Video courtesy: Transportation Security Administration, the Port Authority and Continental Airlines, and Sen. Frank R. Lautenberg (D-NJ). Press Release of Senator Lautenberg Working With Law Enforcement, Lautenberg Releases Video of Newark Airport Security Breach Thursday, January 7, 2010 NEWARK, NJ - After calling for the release of surveillance footage of the January 3 security breach at Newark Liberty Airport in meetings with top security officials at the Transportation Security Administration, the Port Authority and Continental Airlines, Sen. Frank R. Lautenberg (D-NJ) today released video footage of the security breach. The video, approved for release by the TSA, is not considered Sensitive Security Information and law enforcement officials have determined that it will be useful in helping to advance the ongoing investigation. The release of this video will give law enforcement another tool to help find the person who breached the security gate at Newark Liberty Airport, stated Lautenberg. I encourage this individual or anyone with knowledge of his identity to immediately contact law enforcement. It is unacceptable that the Port Authority took so long to produce this tape, but now that it is public we have a better chance of getting to the bottom of this major security incident.

As per the new guidelines announced by the Transportation Security Administration of USA, Sikhs will no longer have to remove their turbans for screening at the airport checkpoints. The announcement came after the Sikh community in US raised concern on TSA's law that made it mandatory to subject turbans, a religious symbol of the Sikhs, for manual checks at American airports.

The TSA has recently gained a lot of attention with the change in their airport security, as shown by videos like a young boy being strip searched, or a 71 year old man with a knee implant being given the good old pat down. We're here to show you actual tapes (not really) of the Transportation Security Administration doing its every day job in trying to secure the nation from terrorism, and at the same time reveling their true twisted intentions. Girl sexually molested at Airport by TSA agent... Before boarding a flight in Grand Rapids, a woman says the search at the security checkpoint was violent, unnecessary and extremely upsetting. "When I got on the plane all I wanted to do was sob," says traveler Ella Swift. Swift was one of an increasing number of passengers Transportation Security Administration officers are thoroughly searching by hand. They call it an "enhanced pat-down." Swift says they told her she was singled out because she was wearing a skirt. She says the search earlier this month was very rough and left her in tears.

After Congressman Roskam learned of two classified TSA reports claiming security screeners at O'Hare failed to detect 60 percent of bomb materials and explosives hidden in carry-on bags he immediately sought an inspection of O'Hare's security measures with Federal Safety Director, Kathleen Petrowsky. Roskam needed to know what measures were being taken by TSA to rectify the finding of these investigations. It was also imperative for Roskam to hear what TSA learned from the undercover tests it conducted and how they are using this information to lower the screening failure percentage. O'Hare International Airport, located in the district Congressman Roskam represents, is our nation's second busiest airport servicing more than 75 million passengers a year. "However difficult, we must have measures that give America the greatest opportunity to prevent future attacks," said Roskam. "The current screening success rate is simply unacceptable." Roskam's inspection of O'Hare coincided with an FBI alert concerning a renewed threat of shoe bombs. Just last month, European security officials discovered a pair of shoes being used to transport bomb components. These small components could then be reassembled once past security checkpoints. This is not the first time shoes have been used as a terrorist weapon. Three months after the attacks of 9/11, Richard Reid was caught trying to blow up an American Airlines jet with a shoe bomb. "As terrorists change tactics so must our security ...
