Sutton Coldfield ( ) is a royal town in the City of Birmingham, in the West Midlands of England. Sutton (as it is often abbreviated) is located about 8 mi (12.9 km) from central Birmingham, in the northeast of the city, with a population of 105,000 recorded in the 2001 census. It forms part of the West Midlands conurbation.

The town has a historical connection to the British Royal Family, resulting in it receiving the title of Royal Town when it was a municipal borough in its own right and part of Warwickshire. When the Local Government Act 1972 came into force in 1974, Sutton Coldfield became part of Birmingham and the wider West Midlands county.

On December 17, 1949, the transmitter at Sutton Coldfield became the first television transmitter to broadcast outside London and the Home Counties, bringing BBC Television to viewers outside of the south-east of England for the first time. MacDonald Hobley makes an in-vision announcement apologising for a technical hitch, then Syvlia Peters introduces viewers to the new transmitting station. This film footage is from the Archive Collection held and administered by the Alexandra Palace Television Society. www.apts.org.uk ~ APTS ~ Preserving the televisual past for the digital future

Website: www.myspace.com/punkrocker182 Email: KeiranFuller@hotmail.co.uk This was the choir for Fairfax (sutton coldfield) Eisteddfod competition, if you don't know what Eisteddfod is then I describe what it is on the video description of "kenilworth instrumental 2008 - Lord of the rings" This was an R Kelly song called The world's greatest. The soloists were Chloe,Becky,James and Me, first was becky, 2nd was me, 3rd was James and 4th was chloe. Then in the bridge bit me and james did the solo on top of the choir, then faintly at the end you can hear me doing a solo bit on top. I really enjoyed doing this song, I think it might of been the camera that didnt pick my singing up very well, cause apparently it was heard very well, I won best musician perhap from this and vocal. This actually came 1st in the eisteddfod, which was really cool, Kenilworth won overall which was amazing. Anyway yeh this choir piece again isnt PERFECT but i really enjoyed it and at parts it sounds nice =) Hope you enjoy.

A brilliant night was had by all at The Gate Inn Sutton Coldfield on15/08/09. Although a small venue it didn't take the lads long to get the house rockin' building up to a grand finale that was electric. Thanks lads for giving me permission to film you. Unfortunatley the place was so packed the only place I could get was right on top of them causing some distortion on the Nokia N95. I will do better next time
