The Super Nintendo Entertainment System (also known as the Super NES, SNES or Super Nintendo) is a 16-bit video game console that was released by Nintendo in North America, Europe, Australasia (Oceania), and South America between 1990 and 1993. In Japan and Southeast Asia, the system is called the

|}, or SFC for short. In South Korea, it is known as the Super Comboy (슈퍼 컴보이) and was distributed by Hyundai Electronics. Although each version is essentially the same, several forms of regional lockout prevent the different versions from being compatible with one another.

The Super Nintendo Entertainment System was Nintendo's second home console, following the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). The console introduced advanced graphics and sound capabilities compared with other consoles at the time. Additionally, development of a variety of enhancement chips (which were integrated on game circuit boards) helped to keep it competitive in the marketplace.

The SNES was a global success, becoming the best-selling console of the 16-bit era despite its relatively late start and the fierce competition it faced in North America from Sega's Genesis console. The SNES remained popular well into the 32-bit era, and although Nintendo no longer offers factory repairs/replacement or accessories for the console, it continues to be popular among fans, collectors, retro gamers, and emulation enthusiasts, some of whom are still making homebrew ROM images.

Classic Game Room HD reviews SUPER MARIO BROS. for NES Nintendo Entertainment System from 1985, the game that changed the world! (even more than Cosmic Carnage) The iconic Super Mario Brothers is the video game which helped to life the video game industry out of the funk in the mid 1980's. It blew away the minds of countless kids in the 80's who immediately wanted a Nintendo to replace their aging Atari 2600 (boo!). The game was so remarkably well made and different from the vast majority of other home console adventure games back in the day. Awesome music, Japanese style and puffy clouds, mushrooms and flying turtles. Super Mario Brothers was the must play game in its day. This CGR review of Super Mario Bros. on NES has gameplay from Super Mario Brothers showing one and two player game play from Nintendo's amazing 2D sidescrolling adventure. Super Mario Bros. is available today on Nintendo Wii Virtual Console and other Nintendo platforms.

Classic Game Room was the FIRST classic video game review show on the Internet in 1999. Returning in 2008 with new episodes, Classic Game Room breaks out a review of the NINTENDO ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEM vs. the XBOX 360 video game console. The NES came out in the USA in 1985, the 360 came out in about 2005. Does 20 years make that much of a difference? Will the NES output HD and play online games? Will the Xbox 360 play Super Mario Brothers and Duck Hunt? Which game console should you choose to play you collection of new and classic arcade retro old school video games? It's all here in this review. The NES uses the NES Advantage. The Xbox plays Halo 3.... who wins? In this review you'll also see cartridges of Bionic Commando, GI Joe Atlantis Factor, Ninja Gaiden, Life Force and Blaster Master. Are you tired of hearing about which is better, the Xbox of the Playstation 3 PS3 or the Wii ? Well we are too. Here's the Xbox vs. the NES!! Be sure to watch the original Classic Game Room episodes. Classic Game Room was the original classic video game review show on the Internet in 1999-2000, now on DVD. The HD series is reviewing PS3, PS2, Genesis, NES, Atari and Xbox 360. Classic Game Room HD buys a SUPER NINTENDO video game console! Can you believe it? A used SNES is now in the possession of the world's most powerful video game review show, CLASSIC SNES OWNING GAME ROOM! Now we can review all of the classics except with a "super" in front of them, like "SUPER Metroid" and "SUPER Star Wars". This console purchase was overshadowed by our recent adventure to buy a Sega Saturn, and we were excited to find a SNES at the same store for $40 with controller and power supply and wires etc... We turned it on, it works. Plays well except the game seems a bit wobbly in there. Classic Game Room reviews video games from years past and the future, although don't call us retro reviews, because we are permanently stuck in the '80s which isn't retro, it's now. We're now reviewers. We review games now. Not then, you just missed it. It's now. The SNES joins the Sega Saturn, Sega Genesis, Mega Drive MD , Sega CD, 32x, Playstation 1, PS2, PS3, Xbox 360, Nintendo Entertainment System NES, N64 and Magnavox Odyssey 2 consoles for the awesome CGRHD show!

Classic Game Room HD reviews the SUPER NINTENDO video game console which was released in the US in 1991. A fan favorite and many viewers' first game system, the Super Nintendo delivered awesome video games with a 16 bit style that differed from its main rival, the Sega Genesis. Smoother visuals and that Nintendo flair for lengthy games packed with months of gameplay made the SNES game console the system to own for fans of Mario games and Zelda. Could you find Super Metroid on the Genesis, Sega CD or 32S? No! (but could you find Cosmic Carnage on the SNES... No!) This Super Nintendo video game console review shows games and the game system up close. Relive the days when competing video game consoles were actually different and played different games. Reminisce about different sound effects, music design and graphics that separated rival Nintendo from Sega. The American Super Nintendo may be built to last and works like a champ but suffers from a case of the uglies. These days many of the best Super Nintendo games can be found on the Nintendo Wii Virtual Console and downloaded for a few bucks. Games like Super Mario Kart on SNES and Super Mario World still hold their value and bring back years of memories for collectors.

Classic Game Room reviews the NINTENDO 64 video game console from Nintendo released in 1996. The N64 is Nintendo's 64-bit answer to the Atari Jaguar and plays videogame cartridges instead of CDs like the Playstation and Sega Saturn. This video review of Nintendo 64 shows a gray N64 videogame console with a matte grey finish and blue controller. The N64 is the successor to the Super Nintendo SNES game console (and uses the same wires) and the predecessor to the Nintendo Gamecube and Nintendo Wii. This CGR review of Nintendo 64 system shows the N64 game system in glorious HD video.

Classic Game Room HD reviews the standard, old school gamepad controller for the NES video game system!! The Nintendo Entertainment System is one of the most beloved gaming consoled in the history of humankind. In 1985 and 1986 video gamers were introduced to the unique and simply styled NES controller that was vastly different from the Atari 2600 joystick that many of us were used to. The NES controller had two buttons, select, start and a little thumbpad. It kicked ass at games like Bionic Commando, Metroid and Contra. Although the little boxy, grey controller is a bit rough around the edges (compared to the sleek Sega Genesis controller), the buttons and directional pad still work very well today some 20 years after it was released. If you have an NES you already have this controller, it was built like a brick, light and although it lacks the arcade feel still works very well today. Bring back the memories of games like Super Mario Brothers Bros. with the classic controller for NES video game awesomeness. Not available on Wii, Virtual Console, Atari, Playstation 2 PS2, Playstation 3, Xbox 360 of Magnavox Odyssey 2. Classic Game Room has over 300 video game reviews, watch them all. This review stars Stella the Wonderdog, a German Shepherd, Chow Chow mixed breed dog.
