Sofapaka Football Club is a football club, based in Nairobi. They play their home games at the Nyayo National Stadium.

The club originates from the men’s fellowship of M.A.O.S Ministries football team founded in 2002, which took part in inter-church competitions. In 2004 Elly Mboni Kalekwa took over the team and formed Sofapaka FC and the team eventually joined the Nationwide league . The team won the Kenyan Cup in 2007, while still playing in the Nationwide League and narrowly missed promotion to the Premier League by finishing second in their zone after Bandari FC . The next season they promoted to the premier league . They won the premier league in 2009, the year they debuted in the league . The club won the 2009 Kenyan Super Cup beating AFC Leopards 1 0

The team was managed by Robert Matano when the team promoted to the KPL in 2008 and won the league the next season. He was, however, dismissed in March 2010 after a below expectations start of the new league season, and early exit from Champions League. He was replaced by Sam Ssimbwa of Uganda .

Sofapaka won its second Kenyan Cup title in 2010, beating the lower league side West Kenya Sugar 2 0 in the final

Tusker FC's hope of closing in on Kenya Premier League Leaders Sofapaka were dimmed further on Saturday when the brewers only managed a 1-1 draw at Bandari. With Sofapaka winning 2-1 on Friday against Sony, Saturday's results means Sofapaka need only one win from the remaining 3 matches to win this year's title. Sofapaka top the table with 52 points, 7 ahead of 2nd plaved Tusker with 3 matches to go. At the City Stadium, Gor Mahia continued to impress with a 2-1 win over relegation-threatened Agro Chemical, in a match which brought Kenyan referees' competence to serious question.

www.ntv.co.ke AFC Leopardss hopes of lifting themselves off the bottom of the Kenya Premier League table suffered a severe dent on Saturday. The Leopards were hammered 4-1 by Sofapaka at the Kasarani National stadium, thanks to a leaking defence that allowed the league leaders strikers too much space in the box.

www.ntv.co.ke Gor Mahia collected three vital points after defeating Western Stima 1-0 in the day's only Kenya Premier league match at Bukhungu Stadium. Andrew Ongwae scored the lone goal which was enough to lift Kogalo to third place in the KPL table on 29 points, just 5 shy of leaders Ulinzi. Meanwhile, a full strength Sofapaka side demolished Eldoret Umeme 5-1.

www.ntv.co.ke Former Kenyan Premier League champions Sofapaka, have only one target, which is to win back the title among 3 other trophies this year. According to the club's president Elly Kalekwa, the 7 players the club has signed so far as well as the introduction of head coach Francis Kimanzi midway through the season will ensure the club wins the KPL title, which they last bagged in 2009. The team drew 2-2 in a friendly match against Congo's Under 17 national team today, two days after they started training.
