Shane Smeltz, the A-League's deadliest striker, scored 19 goals in 2009/10 and 12 goals the season before, winning two golden boots and a Johnny Warren Medal for his efforts. This video features his work for Wellington, Gold Coast and New Zealand, to the tune of 'Four on the Floor' by Spiderbait - (c) Copyright Polydor Records 2001. EDIT: Smeltz played the full 90 minutes in New Zealand's World Cup opener versus Slovakia, putting in the assist for Winston Reid's last-minute equaliser. In the next match, versus Italy, Smeltz scored an early goal to give the All Whites an unlikely 1-0 lead over the reigning World Champions. This makes Smeltz the first A-League player to score a goal at the World Cup. The Italians fought back but the Kiwis showed spirit, discipline and defensive solidity to hold on for a famous 1-1 draw (somewhat overshadowed by Slovakia's stunning 3-2 win in Italy's next match). In August 2010, Smeltz signed for Turkish club GençlerbirliÄi SK.
