Scottish Power practising before the Grade 1 contest at the World Championships in Glasgow 2006. An amazing 10 sides playing.

NOTE: The second drum roll at the beginning has been edited to exclude an intrusive noise which might have given the impression of a bad entry by the pipes. I haven't been able to do this very expertly, so apologies to the band whose start was perfect. Scottish Power Pipe Band playing at Gourock Highland Games on 9 May 2010. The band won the Grade One competition playing the following tunes: Castle Dangerous, The North Star, The Millstead, Salute to Jack Henderson, Struan Robertson, The Hag at the Churn, Hanter Dro, and Golden Brown. The band's Pipe Major is Christopher Armstrong. I loved this - a medley and performance of exceptional quality.

Myspace: www.myspace.com Official Website: www.skiltron.net Facebook: www.facebook.com We have to understand when we are young. We always have to choose a way. Don't let them do it for you, don't be their puppet. Some people can't think by themselves. Going right, thinking well. Knowing and learning what it's providing. Raise your head and look all around. There's so much to go. Through the longest way. I know that many times you want to leave it. That is when you have to face it now and don't get frightened. Don't wait until somebody comes. Everytime you find a brick don't let your armes fal down. You will find that the truth is here. Running through... Through the longest way. So at the end, you'll be able to get something that will not be stolen from you. Asking yourself if this life makes some sense I'm afraid you don'y know. My advice is to believe in the Earth that gives what is here around... For us all. There is someone who is going to try to take you with him as a slave. Don't believe lies and don't fall in the claws of those who want your life 'cause they can't live their own.

Well-known Scottish dance scene group Q-Tex released this dance song in 1996. They are definitely more famous for their song "The Power Of Love". Q-Tex consisted of Jolene (vocals), Scott Brown (keyboards), Gordon Anderson (keyboards) and Alan Todd (keyboards). But back in 1990 when they first began, there was only Scot and Gordon who were doing Physics at college. They had a couple of keyboards and were experimenting with different sounds. About 6 months later Alan Todd joined so with an extra musical mind they started to move a little faster. Their first gig as Q-Tex came while they were still at college.
