Scott County is a county located in Southeast Missouri in the United States. As of the 2000 U.S. Census, the population was 40,422; a 2008 estimate, however, showed the population to be 40,673. Its county seat is Benton . The county was organized in 1821 and named for John Scott, the first Congressman from Missouri.

The Sikeston Micropolitan Statistical Area consists of all of Scott County.
