Sanath Teran Jayasuriya (Sinhala: සනත් ටෙරාන් ජයසූරිය) (born 30 June 1969) is a former Sri Lankan cricketer. An all-rounder, he has been a member of the Sri Lankan cricket team since 1989. He is the only player to score more than 13,000 runs and capture more than 300 wickets in One Day International cricket. He is also regarded by many critics and experts as one of the best all rounders in the history of the game.

He ran for public office at the 2010 Sri Lankan general elections and was elected to parliament from his native Matara District.

Sanath Jayasuriya Video

Two of the Best strikers in Cricket!!! *For all the Sri Lankan Fools who still don't understand, this video compares the "striking" of the two players, in other words "THEIR HITTING POWER" and not their RECORDS. I know jayasuriya is way better then afridi, but this video is all about their HITTING POWER. But it's good to know that there are so many illiterate fools on YouTube that they have failed to get that so far*

Jayasuriya, who is an expert with the official broadcaster Sony, had predicted that Kings XI will beat Chennai Super Kings and if that happens he will dance. Adam Gilchrist reminded Jayasuriya of his promise in the post match ceremony. "I hope to see Sanath Jayasuriya dancing, he said he will dance if we win today," said the Kings XI captain. True to his word, Jayasuriya shook his legs in the television studio. "They (Kings XI Punjab) were being criticised by everybody. I had the confidence that they will win today," said Jayasuriya.
