Piedmont ( , -itpjeˈmontepron; Piedmontese and ; ) is one of the 20 regions of Italy. It has an area of 25,402 square kilometres and a population of about 4.4 million. The capital of Piedmont is Turin. The main local language is Piedmontese. Occitan is also spoken by a minority in the Occitan Valleys situated in the Provinces of Cuneo and Turin. Franco-Provençal is also spoken by another minority in the alpine heights of the Province of Turin. The name Piedmont comes from medieval Latin Pedemontium or Pedemontis, i. e. "ad pedem montium", meaning "at the foot of the mountains" (attested in documents of the end of the 13th century).

This is video of the huge hail core of storm that hit the north side of Oklahoma City on Sunday afternoon, May 16, 2010. The video was shot from Britton Road between Sara and Mustang Road looking north as the storm was passing Piedmont. The video doesn't do justice to the blue/green appearance of the hail core. If you listen closely you can hear the hail roar. Shortly after this video was made the storm entered Oklahoma City and caused millions of dollars worth of damage. There are other good videos here on YouTube that were shot from inside the hail storm. This video is intended only to show the massive size of the hail core as it approached the City, not the individual hail stones or the damage they caused. A few sharp eyed individuals have spotted something some are calling a UFO at 1:08 moving very fast from roughly the center of the video to the right. I believe the object is an insect. 2.25 min. | 4.76 user rating		 I had previously thought my August '94 footage from Horseshoe Curve was the oldest tape I had...I was wrong. It's this tape, the last trip I took behind Norfolk & Western class J 4-8-4 611, dated October 30, 1993, and as it turned out it was also the last trip I took before Norfolk Southern's steam program was cancelled. The trip was put on by the Piedmont Carolinas Chapter of the NRHS and ran from Charlotte, NC to Toccoa, GA. I rode many of the chapter's trips between 1984 and 1993, but unfortunately all of them except this one predated my or my friend's ownership of a video camera. By the time I bought my Handycam in '96 the steam program was long gone, so the clips from this tape are the only surviving personal footage I have of the 611 under steam. The weather was gloomy but it wasn't about to stop me from filming the 611 as her crew went about the business of preparing her for the return trip from Toccoa. After topping off the coal and water, 611 gingerly pulled the train forward to turn on a wye. For the reverse move through the second leg of the wye, NS employed a Geep to pull the train through tail end first, which is where part 2 picks up.
