Pensacola is the westernmost city in the Florida Panhandle and the county seat of Escambia County, Florida, United States of America. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 56,255 and as of 2009, the estimated population was 53,752. Pensacola is the principal city of the Pensacola Ferry Pass Brent Metropolitan Statistical Area, an area with about 455,102 residents in 2009.

Pensacola is a sea port on Pensacola Bay, which connects to the Gulf of Mexico. A large United States Naval Air Station, the first in the United States, is located southwest of Pensacola (near the community of Warrington) and is home to the Blue Angels flight demonstration team and the National Museum of Naval Aviation. The main campus of the University of West Florida is situated north of the city center.

Pensacola is nicknamed "The City of Five Flags" due to the five governments that have flown flags over it during its history: the flags of Spain (Castile), France, Great Britain, the Confederate States of America, and the United States. Other nicknames include "World's Whitest Beaches" (due to the white sand prevalent along beaches in the Florida panhandle), "Cradle of Naval Aviation", "Western Gate to the Sunshine State", "America's First Settlement", "Emerald Coast", "Redneck Riviera", and "Red Snapper Capital of the World."

Away In A Manger was first published with two verses in an Evangelical Lutheran Sunday School collection, Little Children's Book for Schools and Families (1885), where it simply bore the title "Away in a Manger". For many years the words were credited to the German Protestant reformer Martin Luther. In the book Dainty Songs for Little Lads and Lasses (1887) it bears the title "Luther's Cradle Hymn" and the note, "Composed by Martin Luther for his children, and still sung by German mothers to their little ones." This claim that Luther penned this Hymn is highly disputed, yet either way the words continue to teach children and adults alike the story of Christ's birth and encourage His worship. This Christmas Hymn Was Sung at Klondike Baptist Church of Pensacola, Florida 12/21/08. www.geocities.com/churchklondike "ABible Teaching Church" John 1:12-13: But as many as received Him [Jesus Christ], to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. www.needgod.com

"What Child Is This?" is a popular Christmas carol that was written in 1865 by twenty-nine year old writer William Chatterton Dix. William Dix was struck with a sudden near-fatal illness and confined to bedrest for several months, during which time he went into a deep depression. Yet out of his near-death experience, Dix wrote many hymns, including "What Child is This?". It was later set to the traditional English melody of "Greensleeves".
