Penkridge is a market town in Staffordshire, England with a population of 7,836 (Census 2001). However Penkridge's status as a town is relatively new. Many locals will still refer to it as a village.

Benjamin Chambers, 20, of Old Coach Road, Bishops Wood, entered the Popins Pantry in Penkridge in August 2010. He demanded money from the 58-year-old shop keeper but fled empty handed after she chased him out with a mop. Following trial he was convicted of attempt robbery and possession of an imitation firearm with intent to commit robbery. He was today sentenced to six years for the attempt robbery and three years for the possession of an intimidation firearm, to run concurrently. DC Marc Bailey, the investigating officer, said: "This was a shocking crime where the defendant threatened and intimidated the victim. Her bravery in the face of danger is admirable. We welcome the sentence handed to the defendant today."

Stringfield (a former US Air Force Intelligence officer himself) was often criticised for not revealing his source of information, thus leaving the incident to remain obscure and unverified over the years until it resurfaced in Nicholas Redfern's book Cosmic Crashes, published in 1999. In addition Redfern presented in his book a remarkable eye witness testimony to the alleged recovery operation in February/March 1964 who claimed he encountered a roadblock, and was forced to <b>...</b>
