Pavel Mareš (born 18 January 1976 in Otrokovice) is a Czech football player currently playing for Czech side Viktoria Žižkov. He is a left-sided centre-back or left-back.

Mareš played for the Czech Republic at the Euro 2004. Considered a classical, defensive left back, Mareš could be used as a replacement for the more offensive Marek Jankulovski on the Czech national team.

From 2003 to 2006 Mareš played for Zenit St. Petersburg.

In August 2006, Mareš looked poised to join the Bolton Wanderers F.C. from Zenit St. Petersburg before the transfer deadline and passed a medical, only for the move to break down. In January 2007 Mareš left Zenit, moving back to Sparta Prague. He failed to make an impact at Sparta and played little since joining the team . Subsequently he moved on to Viktoria Žižkov.
