Nikolaos "Nikos" Kostenoglou (born October 3, 1970) is a former Greek football player and current manager of Asteras Tripolis. Nikos Kostenoglou started his career as a football player at Xanthi FC the year 1989, and was transferred in 1994 at AEK. He was an exceptional center back with a good pace. He finished his career at AEK Athens, in the season 2004-05. He was given the youth coach job, and 2 years later he became the assistant manager under Lorenzo Serra Ferrer. When Ferrer was sacked in early 2008, Kostenoglou took over until the end of the 2007-2008 season. He stepped down as coach on May 16, 2008 following the hiring of Giorgos Donis. On November 20, 2008, he was announced as the new manager of Asteras Tripolis. |
