Nick Tanner (born Bristol 24 May 1965) is a former footballer who played non league football for Mangotsfield United before playing professionally for Bristol Rovers, Liverpool, Norwich City and Swindon Town. He started professional life as a central midfield player at Bristol Rovers before being signed by Liverpool,and was then converted to a central defender.

Tanner joined Liverpool from Bristol Rovers F.C. and had a short spell on loan at Norwich City in 1990 where he made six appearances. He returned to Liverpool and played 59 games for the club scoring one goal V Everton In 1991 before retiring through a back injury in 1994.

Since retiring, Tanner has been a coach and/or scout at a series of non-league clubs including Almondsbury Town, Mangotsfield United, Roman Glass St George and Wotton Rovers F.C. In November 2009 he was appointed manager of Hellenic West League side Winterbourne United F.C.. Tanner quit Winterbourne in August 2011 however after a poor start to their Hellenic West season.
