Moore County is a county located in the U.S. state of Texas. In 2000, its population was 20,121. Moore is named for Edwin Ward Moore, the commander of the Texas Navy. The county seat is Dumas , which is named for Louis Dumas, originally from the Sherman, Texas, area.

The Dumas Micropolitan Statistical Area includes all of Moore County.

Moore County history is highlighted in the Window on the Plains Museum in Dumas.
