Montgomery County is a county located in the U.S. state of Iowa. It was named in honor of Richard Montgomery, an American Revolutionary War general killed in 1775 while attempting to capture Quebec City, Canada. The population was 10,740 in the 2010 census, a decline from 11,771 in the 2000 census. The county seat is Red Oak.
