Moji is a free, open source, cross-platform Japanese and Chinese dictionary for Mozilla Firefox, Mozilla Thunderbird and SeaMonkey written by Erwan Loisant and Gerald Vogt. Moji itself is a 74.8 KB extension that makes it possible to search much bigger free dictionary databases. Moji was designed as a tool to help foreigners who are learning Japanese read Web pages, and it therefore allows search of hiragana, katakana and kanji terms, but not of rōmaji. On June 6, 2009 developers published updates versions of the extension and the dictionaries, making it compatible with Firefox 3.x's secure updates. Its most recent version is 0.9.8 released on January 9, 2011, which updates dictionaries for FF4 support and brings some internal code cleanup. The program is compatible with Apple Inc. Mac OS X, Microsoft Windows and Linux.
