I went to my hometown Shimane prefecture on August 10 and stayed 6 days at my mother's house. I enjoyed every minute meeting my 84-year-old mother, my brothers, my sister-in-law and relatives. My mother living with my brother and sister-in-law has a garden next to her house. My mother loves growing flowers and vegetables in the garden. When I was living in Shimane, I did not care much about them in the garden. But now, I live in the 4th flour of a condominium, when I go back to Shimane, looking at those flowers as well as taking pictures in the city is always great fun to me.

I took this video the day before I left Japan. Matsue is famous for this sunset, though I don't think we picked the best day to go. I've seen better sunsets from a distance there. Oh, well. It was still pretty.

The Ichibata line is the local train that runs between Matsue and Izumo in Shimane, Japan, with several stops along the way. It's very old and therefore is very loud and shaky, but it's actually a pretty fun experience with a nice view. The train that we rode on this particular day had cute pictures of various birds and fish on it. I think this was in spirit of Vogel Park, which is one of the stops along the way. This was our first and last trip to the beach in Izumo. It was a really fun day. :) Creative Commons Music: Secret Ocean by Kokoro No Furyoku
