Lucy was the saucy daughter of Gary Ewing and Valene Clements Ewing. Lucy was raised on the Southfork Ranch by her grandparents, Jock and Miss Ellie Ewing. In the start of the show, she was a teenager with problems at school. Lucy was a student at Braddock High School (when she attended). During the first season, she had an affair with Ray Krebbs, who would later be revealed as Jock's son, and her uncle. (The affair was allowed to die down before it would be revealed about Ray.) She also briefly dated Cliff and Pam's cousin Jimmy Monahan. Lucy was nicknamed "The Poison Dwarf" by Terry Wogan on his BBC Radio 2 show in the 80s. She married med student Mitch Cooper (played by Leigh McCloskey) in 1981, but since their goals in life differed - he was ambitious and wanted to become a doctor, while she was more interested in having fun - they divorced in 1982. Another problem within their marriage tended to be the balance of financial income. Lucy and Mitch's relationship remained on and off for a year, and Lucy became a model with psychopath Roger as her photographer. Roger had an increasing obsession for Lucy, and eventually kidnapped her, planning to elope to California with her. However, Pam and Bobby rescued Lucy. In quick succession in 1982, Lucy divorced Mitch, fell pregnant with Roger's baby, and later had an abortion. In the 1982 season, Lucy became involved with Ray Krebbs' cousin, Mickey Trotter. However, later on when Lucy had calmed down from her youthful whims, they got back together and married again in 1985 and moved to Atlanta; however, their marriage collapsed again and they divorced a second time in 1988. Lucy moved to Italy in 1990. She is mentioned briefly in the final episode "Conundrum" in 1991 in J.R.'s dream in which it is revealed that without J.R. to drive Gary off Southfork, Lucy would never have been born. She is also mentioned briefly in the film "J.R. Returns" five years later but appears in neither the last episode or the film. Lucy's first car was a silver Fiat X1/9. She then drove a Triumph TR7, and later on a Porsche 924 in the same color. They all had the license plate EWING 5. Cooper, Lucy Ewing |
