Patna Airport , also known as Jaiprakash Narayan International Airport, Patna ( ), is an airport located 5 km (5.0E+12 NM) southwest of Patna, the capital of state of Bihar in India. According to the statistics released by the Airports Authority of India, the agency responsible for the airport, it is the 22nd busiest airport in India. The airport is categorised as a restricted international airport by the Airports Authority of India. It is named after "Lok Nayak" Jayaprakash Narayan (1902 1979), an Indian independence activist and political leader. It is one of the major airports of Eastern Central India. Patna Airport handled 2,17,354 passengers between January and March 2011.
