The

|}, frequently abbreviated to LDP or

|}, is a centre to right-wing, conservative political party in Japan. It is one of the most consistently successful political parties in the democratic world. The LDP ruled almost continuously for nearly 54 years from its founding in 1955 until its defeat in the 2009 election. Prior to 2009, the party had only been out of power for a brief 11 month period between 1993 and 1994. The LDP is not to be confused with the now-defunct

|}, which merged with the Democratic Party of Japan, the main opposition party, in November 2003.

Japan's next prime minister might be nicknamed "The Alien" for his prominent eyes, but it is his wife who claims to have had a close encounter with another world. "While my body was asleep, I think my soul rode on a triangular-shaped UFO and went to Venus," Miyuki Hatoyama, the wife of premier-in-waiting Yukio Hatoyama, wrote in a book published last year. "It was a very beautiful place and it was really green." Yukio Hatoyama is due to take office on September 16 following his Democratic Party of Japan's historic election win last week. Miyuki, 66, described the extraterrestrial experience, which she said took place some 20 years ago, in a book entitled Very Strange Things I've Encountered. Yukio Hatoyama, 62, is the grandson of a former prime minister. Miyuki, also known for her culinary skills, spent six years acting in the Takarazuka Revue, an all-female musical theatre group. She met the US-educated Yukio while living in America. With the nation apparently hungry for change, Japanese people are getting set to welcome a quirky first lady. Al Jazeera Laura Kyle reports on Japan's flamboyant future first lady.

The Dallas Morning News reprinted an article from The Washington Post written by Blaine Harden. This article was an editorial masquerading as a legitimate news article. The placement of just a few words morphed a news story to an opinion piece, exposing the bias of the American news media. A media dedicated to re-education and indoctrination and reporting the news subverted. In reference to the possibility of the Liberal Democratic Party not winning a majority of seats in the forthcoming elections, the article reported it as "throw the bums out." The slanted, bias article went on to evaluate current prime minister Mr. Taro Aso as being "tone deaf." - Excellent example illustrating the decline of the American news media. In Japan (Nippon) there are two major political parties. One being The Liberal Democratic Party (LDP - Jiyu Minshuto), which in actuality is the conservative party. The second being Democratic Party of Japan (DPJ Minshuto), which is the liberal party. Recently the Democratic Party (DPJ) held a conference. First: The flag of Japan with the red circle on a white background referred to as either Nisshoki or Hinomaru, represents the rising sun. The icon of the DPJ consists of the two rising suns one overlapping the other. At the DPJ conference to achieve their icon (logo), two Japanese flags were desecrated sewn together. This caused an uproar among the public. Per an article of the newspaper, The Ashi Shimbun, the DPJ apologized for the incident. Exploring the DPJs English website, it looks rather innocent enough. However on the top right one can click on to view the Japanese language version of their website. Once there on the right side are two small flags side by side, one being the flag of Japan, the other the flag of communist led China. Why? Why would a major political party in a representative democracy with a capitalist economy have such a display on their website? The son of former Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi is making an entrance to the policical scene. He is trying to win his retiring father's seat in Parliament. His father, Junichiro Koizumi, is the maverick former prime minister who shook up Japan's ruling Liberal Democratic Party by vowing to destroy it. But Shinjiro Koizumi, vying for his retiring father Junichiro's seat in a month-end election, realizes that some voters have grown tired of Japan's hereditary politics. The 28-year old faces an equally young Democratic Party candidate without family ties, Katsuhito Yokokume, a lawyer nicknamed "Sori", or prime minister. Shinjiro says winning the battle royale of "Sori" versus "Son of Sori" will require voters to put aside legacy opposition and back him. [Shinjiro Koizumi, LDP Candidate]: "I know there is opposition to hereditary politics that I must overcome, and even though they may think family politics may not be good, I ask all voters just to back me, Koizumi Shinjiro. Junichiro Koizumi, the son and grandson of politicians, held his seat from 1972 to 2006. Such family dynasties are common in Japan, with over 40 percent of the LDP descendants of lawmakers, a contrast to Koizumi's call for political change. Some say the LDP's possible upcoming loss of power, which would be only the second in over half a century, stems from a lack of new party talent. Still, some supporters say Shinjiro, who earned at Masters degree at Columbia, will always be his father's son ...

First some links: PropagandaBuster's blog: propaganda-buster.blogspot.com PropagandaBuster's other YouTube channel: www.youtube.com Japanese Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama of the DPJ (Democratic Party of Japan) resigned as prime minister. During his election campaign he promised to get the US Marine air base located at Futenma, Okinawa moved off the island. Mr. Hatoyama was not able to keep that campaign promise due to an agreement made with the previous Japanese administration and the USA to keep the island on the base. That plus some campaign finance irregularities caused his poll numbers to sink below 20%, caused the resignation.
