Kim Novak (born February 13, 1933) is an American actress. She came to prominence for her role in the 1955 film Picnic and went on to have roles in The Man with the Golden Arm, Pal Joey, Bell, Book and Candle, Strangers When We Meet, The Notorious Landlady, Kiss Me, Stupid, and The Amorous Adventures of Moll Flanders. However, she may be best known for her performance in the 1958 film Vertigo. Novak retired from acting in 1991 and has since become an artist of oil paintings. She lives with her veterinarian husband on a ranch in Eagle Point, Oregon, where they raise livestock.
