From GamblersTelevision.com Tony T here from Gamblers Television covering the NFL "Vegas Style" all season long. The Detroit Lions finished the 2007 regular season with a record of 7-9. After starting 6-2 the Lions lost 7 of their last 8 games with their only victory coming against hapless Kansas City. The defense gave up the most points and yardage last season in the league. Oddsmakers have set the 2008 Detroit Lions projected regular season win total at 6 ½ wins. Schedule Detroit plays in the NFC North and that means two games against Minnesota, Chicago and Green Bay. The NFC North plays the NFC South and AFC South with a tough road game at Indianapolis. As the third place team last year they play the two other third place NFC teams and that means a road game at San Francisco and a home game against Washington. Offense: Quarterback Jon Kitna was sorry to see offensive coordinator Mike Martz leave the team. He played well in his system and unfortunately the Lions did not have depth on defense to survive a season under Martz running the offense. Kitna passed for over 8000 yards over the past two seasons combined. He has targets in the passing game with Calvin Johnson, Roy Williams and Mike Furrey. The Lions didn't run the ball because they couldn't with their personnel. They are counting heavily on third round pick Kevin Smith to run the ball out of Central Florida. Smith's backup is Tatum Bell. Did I forget to say that Matt Millen is the GM of this team!! This is how you ...

Though Jon Kitna played his guts out, it just wasn't good enough to stop the Dallas Cowboys from getting destroyed at home by the jacksonville Jaguars. I guess it was Tony Romo's fault again......

A CT scan on Tuesday morning confirmed that Cowboys quarterback, Tony Romo, will not need surgery for his broken left clavicle, coach Wade Phillips announced on Tuesday Phillips said Romo would be sidelined six to eight weeks. It is possible that Romo will not play again this season since that timetable would not permit him to return to the lineup until mid-December. At that point, the Cowboys would probably be inclined to hold Romo out to avoid the potential of him reinjuring the shoulder, unless backup Jon Kitna puts the Cowboys in playoff contention during Romo's absence. Romo was hurt with 12:07 to play in the second quarter after completing a pass to wide receiver, Miles Austin. Romo was hit by Giants weakside linebacker, Michael Boley, who came on a blitz. Romo's left shoulder crashed into the turf as Boley tackled him to the ground. Find out what Romo had to say about the injury, the thoughts of backup quarterback, Jon Kitna on his new role as the Cowboys starting quarterback, comments from Phillips about how the Cowboys move forward for the remainder of the season, receive some prospective from ESPN senior NFL writer John Clayton on the future of Wade Phillips, who could potentially replace him and more. Also don't miss my take on the destruction in Dallas. It's all in the Wednesday edition of the McShan Sports Beat Report.
