John James "Jean" Charest, PC, MNA (-frʒɑ̃ ʃɑʁɛpron; born June 24, 1958) is the 29th and current Premier of Quebec. He is a former leader of the federal Progressive Conservative Party of Canada (1993 1998) and the current leader of the Quebec Liberal Party.

Charest has joked that his political obituary has been written so many times that he has lost count.
