James Scott Beattie (born 27 February 1978) is an English footballer who is currently unattached and without a club.

A Blackburn Rovers trainee, he signed professionally for them in 1995. Beattie joined Southampton for £1m on 10 July 1998. After six-and-a-half seasons, he became Everton's record signing, in 2005, for £6 million. Beattie joined Sheffield United in August 2007 for £4 million. Beattie returned to the Premier League, when Stoke City bought him in January 2009 for an initial fee of £2.5 million. He was bought by Rangers on 13 August 2010. On 31 August 2011, Beattie was released by Rangers.
