Glam Punk (or glitter punk) is a music genre that mixes elements of glam rock with protopunk or punk rock (and sometimes garage rock). The most influential glam punk band has been the New York Dolls, whose androgynous image and raw, loose brand of rock n' roll provided a blueprint for the genre. Other notable glam punk bands include Jayne County, Iggy Pop, Placebo, Squad Five-O, Eric Emerson and the Magic Tramps, Dorian Zero, The Dogs D'Amour, Manic Street Preachers, Toilet Boys, Hanoi Rocks, and D Generation.

the Finnish glam punk band guns n roses stole all their ideas from. The drumemr of this band, Razzle, died in 1984 when he was a passenger in Vince Neil's Pantera and and it crashed less than 5 miles from Motley Crue's house. If anyone can find more Hanoi Rocks videos please tell me!

9.23 min. | 4.82 user rating		 SPECIMEN were a glam horror post-punk band, who became most known for launching the 'Batcave' club in London around 1982 or so. The club became a fertile dark arts club where interesting artists of the time would perform to the nightlife in-crowd. It was just the new hip post-punk scene; only in retrospect tagged 'goth'. They signed to London Records, first releasing a now rare Batcave compilation (Test Dept, Patti Palladin, Brilliant, etc) and some singles which became a mini-album on Sire in USA. But the success of the club maybe was a distraction. Later they had releases on Flicknife. All their recordings, including the 12" version of KKBB can be found on the Jungle CD 'Azoic' FREUDCD054. Friend or Foe also became Adam Ant's most successful solo album giving him the hit song "Goody Two Shoes" which peaked at #1 on the UK charts, and at #12 in the USA; along with the innovative video, this made him a crossover (over the Atlantic) star. The traditional Ant sound was augmented by newer, more rockabilly-influenced guitar as well as new beats, such as the Bo Diddley beat on the fan favourite "Place in the Country". Other hits produced from the record were "Desperate But Not Serious" (UK #33) and "Friend or Foe" (UK #9). A remastered version was released in 2005, featuring 12 additional tracks. Adam Ant (born Stuart Leslie Goddard on 3 November 1954) is an English musician, who gained popularity as the lead singer of 1980s New Wave/post-punk group Adam and the Ants and later as a solo artist. Goddard was also a star in America where he not only scored a string of hit singles and albums, but was once voted sexiest man in America by the viewers of MTV. He is also an actor, having appeared in two dozen films or television episodes between 1985 and 1999. Adam Ant has been regarded by some critics as "one of the last true versatile performers". The tone of Adam's début solo album, Friend or Foe, was defined as glitzy glam pop with "tongue-in-cheek tunes, delivered with an excess of flair and good humour".
