The Ford Fairmont is a full-size car which was built by Ford Australia as a more upmarket version of the Ford Falcon from 1965 to 2008. It was available as a 4-door sedan throughout its life, as a five door station wagon from its introduction through to 2002 and as a two door hardtop from 1972 to 1978.

What they fail to mention is that the car in the ad is smaller AND lighter than the Toyota Prius. So much for advertising integrity at Ford! Still, this is the same company that claims to be Australian, even though they come from America. Besides, if they were able to get fuel economy like that...why has it taken them only...oh I don't know...more than 109 years to achieve that?

For those that don't know, these Australian built coupes/hardtops were built from 1972 through to 1979 across the XA/XB/XC model ranges. The most famous coupe is probably the Mad Max car used in the first two mad max movies, and there's a replica of that car featuring in this video. There was also a coupe that featured in Love The Beast - Eric Bana's ode to his own Falcon Coupe which he has owned from way before he became famous. Unfortunately I couldn't fit all the cars in the video but I squeezed a fair few in, I hope you all enjoy it.
