The term fiddle may refer to any bowed string musical instrument, most often the violin. It is also a colloquial term for the instrument used by players in all genres, including classical music. Fiddle playing, or fiddling, refers to various styles of music.

Here Mikayla is playing a custom made 5 string fiddle made especially for her by Chuck Jones of Vandalia, IL. Mikayla started playing violin when she was 6 and currently has a band that plays across the Midwest, but mostly in Illinois. She also plays lead for the house band at the Seminary School House in Central Illinois every Saturday night. Featured also in this video are two of her band members; Russ Rench on Mandolin and Bruce "Swamp" Wiess on guitar. As a side note, Swamp was a member of the band of Alison Krauss and played all lead guitar on her first album.
