Fallon is a city in Churchill County, located in western Nevada, United States. The population was 7,536 at the 2000 census. It is the county seat of Churchill County and is located in the Lahontan Valley.

Fallon is primarily an agricultural community. Although the area is arid, approximately 50,000 acres (200 km2) of farmland are irrigated with water supplied by the Truckee-Carson Irrigation District. The principal crop is alfalfa. Fallon Heart O' Gold cantaloupes were once distributed throughout the nation, but are now mostly grown for local consumption. Naval Air Station Fallon also provides a significant employment. Fallon has been known as the "Oasis of Nevada."

U.S. Route 50 is the main road through town. Fallon is one of the westernmost cities on the Loneliest Road in America, the stretch of Route 50 through Nevada famed for its remoteness. Eastbound travelers must go 110 miles to find the next town, Austin, Nevada. The state bird is the Mountain Bluebird and the state plant is the Sagebrush.

Update .. a viewer went out to the location.. nothing but piles of dirt and an old quarry! hmmm what the heck is going on out there. no base radar station.. no facility.. where did the "beams" come from ??? this was sent to me by a person who lives there locally.. not giving their name until AFTER they attempt to go out there again... quote "my comment tells you what i seen alot of signs talking electric shock i couldnt get all the way back because of my car but there is definately something going on back there also if you google earth like you did you will see the road called hart lane the next road heading to fallon is unmarked even on the road. that is the road that takes you directly to it. mason road and hart road both say dead end so i went down them they end on someones property but you can still see the road continue through thier fields so i just drove right through thier property and it took me back to the pits but cant get to the back side of the mountain. so we are going to take kids this weekend hike back with cameras get more video. the video i shot now ill also send to you alot of it is driving there and showing the roads and then i go back on the back roads and show the signs and the FAKE GRAVEL PIT with noone working there all locked up but they have buildings and cameras. i got all that. ill send it when my daughter gets home she knows all that. good vid man. crazy i knew there was something off here just way way way to many trails and clouds daily. and <b>...</b>
