Eric T. Schneiderman (born December 31, 1954) is the current New York Attorney General. He previously represented the 31st District in the New York State Senate. This comprises Manhattan's Upper West Side, as well as Morningside Heights, West Harlem, Washington Heights, Inwood, and Marble Hill, in addition to part of Riverdale, The Bronx.

In the NY State Senate, there's a bill awaiting vote. It is Senate Bill 6005 or 6005A, otherwise known as microstamping. It calls for ALL handguns delivered anywhere in the State of New York, or ALL handguns manufactured anywhere in the state of New York to be capable of stamping a microscopic serial number of sorts on spent shell cases fired from the handguns. It also makes any handgun that does not have a laser etched firing pin with the microstamp on it, ILLEGAL, and the owner of that handgun may have his firearm confiscated, may be fined, charged with a felony, or all 3. The sponsor of the bill, ERIC SCHNEIDERMAN, claims that this will combat gangs and "illegal guns" statewide. That is a bunch of BULLSHIT! This is an infringement of our 2nd amendment rights. Here's what this bullshit bill will do: 1: This technology is GROSSLY INACCURATE! Most codes on spent brass are illegible, meaning the the code was so ill stamped, that neither the human eye with the assistance of microscopes or computers could not read it to make an accurate match. Ask those in California, they already have this! 2: If a laser etched handgun is stolen and used in a crime, the legal owner WILL GO TO JAIL for a crime he/she did not commit...oh, that's IF the police can make an accurate match, which they most likely will not be able to do (see #1). 3: If his/her stamped brass is found at a crime scene, he/she WILL GO TO JAIL for a crime he/she did not commit...oh, that's IF the police can make an <b>...</b>
