'Electronic Gaming Monthly' (often abbreviated to 'EGM') is a monthly American video game magazine. It has been published by EGM Media, LLC. since relaunching in April of 2010. Its previous run, which ended in January 2009, was published by Ziff Davis. It focuses on video game news, coverage of industry events, and interviews with gaming figureheads, as well as editorial content and product reviews. Prior to the 2010 relaunch it exclusively covered console hardware and software, but has since expanded its coverage to the PC and mobile gaming markets.

In 1994, EGM spawned EGM2. EGM2 focused on expanded cheats and tricks (i.e. with maps and guides). The spin-off publication eventually became Expert Gamer, and finally the defunct GameNOW.

At the 1993 Winter Consumer Electronic Show it was a pleasure running into Electronic Gaming Monthly's former Senior Editor Ed Semrad and Martin Alessi. I caught them checking out the Turbo Technologies booth. EGM had been my all-time favorite video gaming magazine from the late 80s until Sendai Publishing was sold off to Ziff Davis in the mid 90s. I just had to get Mr. Semrad and Mr. Alessi's John Hancock on my January '93 issue of EGM :)

For more on Street Fighter, go to www.PaulGaleNetwork.com Hey everyone, my name is Paul Gale and was on several occasions, called the World's #1 Street Fighter Fan! I've been featured in Udon's Street Fighter Issue #7 Comic Book for my real life, multi-yeared martial arts practice, on Capcom-Unity.com, GoNintendo.com, and 4ColorRebellion.com for my Ryu Halloween Pumpkin as well as my Street Fighter Gingerbread Men and Street Fighter Poem, and a few magazines such as Nintendo Power and Electronic Gaming Monthly for stories on how videogames can transcend the digital world into your real life. In addition to these websites, comics, and magazines, I created the massive Official Street Fighter IV and Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix on 1up.com and with 1up and GameVideos.com, as well as YouTube, have made various Street Fighter material over the years. If you would like to see more pictures of my Street Fighter fandom, including a story I'm going to write, head over to Bitmob.com. At Bitmob.com, I will also have this video available and if you have any particular Street Fighter related questions, feel free to ask. Also...last but not least, I was lucky enough to be one of the 8 winners around the world, chosen to be a background character in Street Fighter IV! Not only did Capcom invite me VIP style to SF4's Launch Party Event in Los Angeles, CA, in February, 2009, but in the European Cruise Ship Stage, off to the left, you'll see me in a blue suit, sitting next to ...

Before there was the INTERNET I couldn't be anymore dependent on gaming news than to buy or subscribe to video game mags. Its how I became familar to all the pass, present, and future consoles and software. But I just wasn't satisfied with only domestic news. I had to know what was going on in Japan directly. I also was importing titles because back in the day ( and still today ) the American game divisions have been screwing with the translations or cosmetically changing the game for some odd reasons - sigh - Censorship has always a pet peeve of mine...I have fond memories with many of these publications. Some of the mags look mangled because I was taking them anywhere where there was bordem. Or some other mags were horribly mistreated by the mailman - Grrr - Most of the time i'd walked to the newsstands to buy the mags than subscribing out of fear of the mailman, again. In this clip, this isn't even half of my mag collection. I have them all in crates with an acid-free protector sleeve. I figure 20 more years from now this stuff will be great personal reference to gaming history ;) ****I may do another mag clip like this one because I could only fit 10mins**** Gaming Magazine featured in the clip in no particular order: -Nintendo Fun Club News -Nintendo Power -Pocket Power -Limited edition issue during the theatrical screening of "The Wizard" -Dengeki PC Engine -PC Engine Fan -Mega Drive Fan -Beep! Mega Drive -Famitsu - I believe this mag is the standard of all gaming ...

A few years ago I designed this for an assignment in an art class (we had to mimic an existing magazine). I thought, what better magazine than my favorite, Electronic Gaming Monthly? And what better made-up headline than one featuring one of my favorite video game characters? And now it's back!!
