Eczema (From Greek ἔκζεμα ēkzema, 'to boil over') is a form of dermatitis, or inflammation of the epidermis (the outer layer of the skin). In England, an estimated 5.7 million or about one in every nine people have been diagnosed with the disease by a clinician at some point in their lives.

The term eczema is broadly applied to a range of persistent skin conditions. These include dryness and recurring skin rashes that are characterized by one or more of these symptoms: redness, skin edema (swelling), itching and dryness, crusting, flaking, blistering, cracking, oozing, or bleeding. Areas of temporary skin discoloration may appear and are sometimes due to healed injuries. Scratching open a healing lesion may result in scarring and may enlarge the rash.

The word 'eczema' comes from Greek words, that mean 'to boil over'. Dermatitis’ comes from the Greek word for skin and both terms refer to exactly the same skin condition. In some languages, dermatitis and "eczema" are synonymous, while in other languages "dermatitis" implies an acute condition and "eczema" a chronic one. The two conditions are often classified together.

This is not an STD / STI en.wikipedia.org UPDATE: I got rid of this by using Chlorhexidine .5% in ethanol 70%. It is a surface disinfectant used in hospitals. I applied it on the infected area 10 to 15 times per day and it was gone in about 2 weeks. Don't pick the scabs as it will last longer. Don't squeeze anything. Also, I stopped all of the antibiotics as they weren't doing anything. I just used the disinfectant. Rubbing alcohol might do the job as well. Why did I make this video? Because staph infections are really common & I noticed there were no people sharing their experience with it on youtube. Note: this is not a sexually transmitted disease. It is a bacteria that lives on many people's skin and can become an infection if it gets deep into the skin (such as with the flared up eczema rash I had on my face)

By: Leslie Nguyen This is my public service announcement for my Health Science Technology class. I have eczema myself, but it's not as severe as the pictures seen in the video. I do use the corticosteroids every now and then, and it does reduce the scaley, dry, reddened skin very well. I have had eczema ever since I was a child and still have it til' this day [ I will probably have it for the rest of my life] and that means that I have Chronic dermatitis or eczema. Doing this project has really taught me quite a bit about this "skin rash" I have had for years.

I had the WORST eczema ever before I tried out extra virgin coconut oil.. if you have eczema I would totally reccomend trying it out and seeing if it'll help! And it really doesn't matter what brand either, if you have an allergy to coconut dont use it. But if you don't, put it on after you shower and it'll last all day (if you workout you might want to put on extra cause of sweat). Where to buy: Henrys, Sprouts, Whole Foods, Frazier Farms; those kinds of stores And hey, if this doesn't work, you can always research other methods: amzn.to rgrans sent me this so maybe it'll help you!
