Daviess County is a county located in the U.S. state of Missouri. As of 2000, the population was 8,016. Its county seat is Gallatin . The county was organized in 1836 and is named after Col. Joseph Hamilton Daviess of Kentucky, who was killed in 1811 at the Battle of Tippecanoe.
