David Roy Akers ( ; born December 9, 1974 in Lexington, Kentucky) is a left footed American football placekicker for the Philadelphia Eagles of the National Football League. He was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Atlanta Falcons in 1997. He played college football at Louisville.

Akers has also been a member of the Carolina Panthers, Washington Redskins and Berlin Thunder.
