Coolidge is a city in Pinal County, Arizona, United States. According to 2005 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the city is 8,154.

Arizona Highway 87 and Arizona Highway 287 pass through the town. Coolidge is 56 miles southeast of Phoenix, and 69 miles northwest of Tucson. It is 21 miles northeast of Casa Grande and 11 miles southwest of Florence. Picacho Reservoir is just 11 miles south of town.

Coolidge is home of the Casa Grande Ruins National Monument. The monument was the first historic site to receive protected status by the United States Government in 1892. The ancient city was built about 1200 AD. by the Hohokam people.

Coolidge was incorporated as a city in 1945. It is named for Calvin Coolidge, the 30th President of the United States.

Coolidge is home to Central Arizona College.

My second job, storm chasing. On 7/31/11 I headed out to get some stock footage with SIV-3. It quickly turned into a full blown storm chasing trip during the Arizona Monsoon. I traveled to Florence, Coolidge, Sacaton, Chandler, Mesa, Apache Junction and Gold Canyon Arizona. Multiple severe thunderstorm and dust storm warnings were issued this day. I broadcast live video to SevereStudios and issued multiple severe weather reports from the road that were sent to SpotterNetwork and successfully injected to the National Weather Service office in Phoenix Arizona. 22.03 min. | 4.38 user rating		 Two people aboard a plane that crashed after a mid-air collision near Phoenix on Wednesday were student pilots. Both were part of a Phoenix-area flight school. One of the two was killed in the crash; the second was airlifted to a local hospital. The collision - between two planes - happened around 10 am near Arizona Boulevard and Coolidge Road in Coolidge. Pictures shows that the the tail from the plane was separated from the main cabin, sitting about a block away in another field. One person on board this first plane, a single-engine Cessna 150, was killed and the other one was airlifted to a hospital. Coolidge police officers said the victim that was killed had been thrown from the plane about 100 feet. The second plane from the crash sitting in another field, about 2 miles away. There was damage to the propeller and front end, however most of the plane was intact. The plane, a single-engine Piper Cherokee, is reportedly registered to Oxford Airline Training Center out of Goodyear. The pilot and a passenger were not hurt, and walked away from the scene, according to Gregor. The cause of the crash is unknown.

Our original target area was Tucson, but we had to adjust a bit. We ended up in Casa Grande, about 40 miles south of Phoenix. We saw some beautiful cumulonimbus develop as we were driving down to Casa Grande, and we thought we would see some major action. The storms were moving just to the east of Casa Grande, so we repositioned at Picacho Peak, which is about 10 minutes east of our original deployment. We thought we were in perfect position, but too much outflow choked off the storm's inflow, causing it to dissipate. The outflow winds created some blowing dust with a few minor dust devils. We decided to return to Casa Grande in hopes of repositioning for a new storm developing, but the storm fizzled out. So we decided to intercept the growing dust storm that originated in the Tucson area. I set up the tripod and got some footage just to the south of the Coolidge/Florence area. When we arrived home, the sun was setting and illuminating a distant thunderstorm; I grabbed the camera and began filming. I would call the chase a semi-bust, as a lot of the storms fizzled right before our eyes, but we did get some good footage of some beautiful thunderstorms with nice features.
