Clinton is a city in Vermillion County, Indiana, United States. The population was 4,893 at the 2010 census. The city was established in 1829 and is named after DeWitt Clinton, who served as governor of New York from 1817 to 1823. Many of Clinton's original settlers were immigrants working in coal mines. Most of the immigrants were Italians trying to earn a living coal mining. Many of these immigrants were from northern Italy, in contrast to the majority of Italian immigrants to America during this same time period that hailed from southern Italy. Over time, the coal mining industry in Clinton died down but many of the Italian settlers stayed at Clinton.

Your Daily Politics Video Blog: Hillary Clinton's campaign is running primarily on the sheer defiant enthusiasm of her supporters and staff, and perhaps no one embodies that doggedness more than former Special Counsel to President Clinton, Lanny Davis. In today's episode of TPMtv we present Lanny's pièce de résistance, his stint on CNN's Tuesday night North Carolina and Indiana primary coverage.

Change is inevitable. Strength is only an option. Strength is what we need. Give $5 TODAY to www.hillaryclinton.com http Hillary Clinton emerged victorious in yet another swing state. Tonight's convincing victory in the Pennsylvania primary for the Democratic nomination for the 2008 General Election for president of the United States was a display of Clinton's strength among key voting segments such as women blue collar white males catholics and so called "Reagan Democrats." In recent elections for President of the United States these swing voters have proved to be the difference makers and no candidate for President in the modern era of presidential politics has won without their support. Respondents to exit polls after the Pennsylvania primary drew stark contrasts in their perceptions of Hillary Clinton's ability and readiness to manage the issues most important to the them versus her opponent Barack Obama. The economy and national security yet again emerged as the top issues voters care most about and Senator Clinton won resounding victories on these issues. By outspending Hillary Clinton by a 3 to 1 margin in the Pennsylvania primary- Senator Barack Obama was able to cut into Hillary Clinton's once 20 point lead in Pennsylvania. However his victories among African-American's Affluent Whites and the youth vote were not enough to overcome Hillary Clinton's larger coalition of the Blue Collar so-called Reagan Democrats. As neither Barack Obama or Hillary Clinton will ...

The electoral map: www.electoral-vote.com Rasmussen's biased polling: tinyurl.com Join the conversation on Facebook www.facebook.com Add TDC to your circles on Google+ plus.google.com Follow The Daily Conversation on Twitter www.twitter.com Let's take a look at the electoral map to see where the race for the presidency stands right now. What's immediately clear is that Mitt Romney is a heavy underdog. If the election were held today, it would be a landslide victory for President Obama, whose campaign has tried and succeeded at defining Romney as an out of touch millionaire with a questionable record: something that is directly reflected by this polling data. Obama has made significant gains in the last couple of weeks and looks practically unbeatable today: he leads in most of the key swing states and is building momentum in others--even beginning to challenge Romney in places the GOP thought were safe. If we take out the Rasmussen poll results - whose right wing bias was uncovered in a great NY Times piece today - Obama's lead grows substantially. The real question of this election seems not to be: will Obama be reelected? - because that looks inevitable - but whether or not voters will hand his democratic party the majorities in both houses of congress that he had in the first two years of his first term, up until 2010, that worked with him to enact his legislative agenda. I'll post another video in a few weeks to see how things have changed after Romney names his Vice ...

A repost from DKdeepThroat. OBAMA'S LIST OF LIES & HYPOCRISY #1. Nasty, negative campaigning. Obama and the media says he has run a positive, uplifting campaign and that the negativity is Hillary's fault. False. His campaign has blamed Hillary for Benzair Bhutto's death (Dec., Iowa), claimed she didn't care about Katrina victims (Jan., New Hampshire), consistently trashed the Clinton legacy starting in Nevada, released a memo calling Hillary "racially insensitive" and implying her campaign was racist (Jan., South Carolina), used right-wing style attacks to mislead voters about Hillary's health care plan (Ohio), blocked revotes in Michigan and Florida, and is already releasing negative mailers about Hillary in Indiana. See a timeline of Obama's meanspirited anti-Hillary attacks here: www.attacktimeline.com #2. Rezko. Initially claimed that Rezko had donated $50-60 K to BO campaigns. Then disclosed the number was $120 K. Recently had to admit that the number was $250 K. Then released documents on Saturday news dump showing that Rezko was on his finance committee for the 2004 campaign. Claimed in South Carolina debate that his Rezko dealings were limited to "five hours" of legal work. Turns out they had a 17 year relationship. Claimed "no one had any inkling" Rezko was in legal trouble when they engaged in a house deal, only to later admit that he even questioned Rezko about his criminal ties. Said Rezko house deal was coincidence, but later revelead he approached Rezko for ...
