"The Pepin County portion of the Chippewa River State Trail commences near the heart of downtown Durand, Wisconsin, and spans seven-miles to the intersection of the Red Cedar State Trail. A mile from downtown at the northeast edge of Durand, the trail passes through Tarrant Park, which offers a campground, swimming pool, drinking water, picnic and playground areas, pavilions, and restrooms. From Tarrant Park the trail drops gently down and passes through broad floodplain fields, crosses Bear Creek, and heads into a lush lowland hardwood forest. It then gradually ascends onto a wide alluvial plain of the Chippewa River passing through a variety of fields, forest, prairie and wetlands before once again descending down into the deep woods of the Dunnville Wildlife Area near the junction of the Red Cedar State Trail." -Pepin County Visitor Information call toll-free 1-888-672-5709 Campgrounds on the Chippewa River Valley trails are available on the south end of the trail in Durand, WI. The Chippewa Valley Museum is working with community partners to develop a community cultural vision for Eau Claire County. When it's done, this document will be a tool for local government, funders, and cultural organizations as they make decisions and set directions. The project, called The Good Life, received national funding from the Institute of Museum and Library Services. The Good Life is looking at where Eau Claire County residents think it is now, what it might be like in the future and what can be done to get it there. As part of that, Charter Communications created an television spot about some of the things that make life in Eau Claire County the good life! The Chippewa Valley Museum's community partners include the LE Phillips Memorial Public Library, Clear Vision Eau Claire, the Children's Museum of Eau Claire, and the Eau Claire Regional Arts Council.
