Chelan County (c-eniconʃəˈlæn) is a county located in the U.S. state of Washington. Its population was 72,453 at the 2010 U.S. census. It is part of the 'Wenatchee - East Wenatchee, Washington Metropolitan Statistical Area'. The county seat is at Wenatchee, which is also the county's largest city. "Chelan" derives from a Chelan Indian word meaning "deep water," likely a reference to 55 mi (88.5 km)-long Lake Chelan, which reaches a maximum depth of 1,486 feet (453 m).

Chelan County was created out of Okanogan and Kittitas Counties on March 13, 1899.
