Caruaru is a city in Pernambuco, Brazil. Caruaru, Petrolina and cities in the Recife metropolitan area are the biggest and most important cities in Pernambuco. As of 2010, Caruaru had a population of 314,951, ranking first outside the metro area and fifth in all state. The city is famous, among other things for Mestre Vitalino's clay mini-sculptures inserted in Alto do Moura (Moura highhill) recognized by UNESCO as the largest center for figurative arts in the Americas; to have one of the biggest textile sector of the interior of Brazil; and to have one of the biggest Saint John's festivals ( Sao João) together with Recife and Campina Grande of Brazil.

The city is served by Oscar Laranjeira Airport.
