The Carp Lake River is a river in Emmet County, Michigan.

The Carp Lake River is one of only five locations in the world where the critically endangered Hungerford's Crawling Water Beetle (Brychius hungerfordi) has been found. The area of the river near the Oliver Road crossing revealed 4 adult specimens in 1997 study and 1 adult in 1999, but erosion at the road seems to have harmed the habitat and no specimens were found in the last survey conducted in 2003..

We went out for a couple of days to the Tennessee River, but since we only managed to catch only two fish, we decided to stop by a local lake near Atlanta to fish the other day. The fish had a lot of scars and other injuries probably from spear fisherman or maybe animals. Made for an interesting catch.
