Brigham Young University (often referred to as BYU, or sometimes just the Y) is a private university located in Provo, Utah. It is owned and operated by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church), and is the United States' largest religious university and fourth-largest private university.

Approximately 98% of the university's 34,000 students are members of the LDS (Mormon) Church, and one-third of its American students come from within the state of Utah. BYU students are required to follow an honor code, which mandates behavior in line with LDS teachings (e.g., academic honesty, adherence to dress and grooming standards, and abstinence from extramarital sex and from the consumption of drugs and alcohol). Many students (78% of men, 10% of women) take a two-year hiatus from their studies at some point to serve as Mormon missionaries. Many BYU students speak foreign languages during their Mormon missions, and approximately 31% of the student body enroll in foreign language courses, making it one of the most linguistic universities in the United States. A BYU education is also less expensive than at similar private universities since approximately 70% of tuition is funded by LDS Church tithing funds.

BYU offers programs in liberal arts, engineering, agriculture, management, and law. The university is broadly organized into 11 colleges or schools at its main Provo campus, with certain colleges and divisions defining their own admission standards. The university also administers two satellite campuses, one in Jerusalem and one in Salt Lake City, while its parent organization, the Church Educational System, sponsors sister schools in Hawaii and Idaho. The university's primary focus is on undergraduate education, but it also has 68 master's and 25 doctoral degree programs.

BYU's athletic teams compete in Division I of the NCAA and are collectively known as the BYU Cougars. They are independent in football, with other sports in the West Coast Conference and MPSF, and have won ten national championships.

A message of hope and love to LGBT Mormon youth from the students of USGA (Understanding Same-Gender Attraction) which is an unofficial group of Brigham Young University students, faculty, and friends who wish to strengthen families and the BYU community by providing a place for open, respectful discussions on the topic of same-gender attraction. USGA is not an appropriate forum for angry, vulgar, or profane remarks of any kind, nor for expressions of antagonism against any person or organization. In order to foster an environment of respect and understanding, we ask all participants to be respectful of BYU, the Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day Saints (Mormon), and the beliefs and experiences of others. If you'd like to add your voice to the messages of hope and love, please make a video, upload it to YouTube and send us the link. Thanks! BYU Hawaii - ULU祭ãã§ã¹ãã£ãã«This is just a clip of a little thing we put together for a Japanese Club event that took place during Spring Term 2008 at Brigham Young University Hawaii. I had never really heard the song before, but I learned it the day prior to the event, and the first time we all got together with all the equipment and actually practiced this song was 30 minutes before the event started, haha. So, I think we did a good job for only practicing for 30 minutes. Me (Andy) and Kentarou are improvising the guitar solos in the middle, and I'm improvising the solo at the end after the key change. Yes, the drummer drops one of his sticks in the middle of the song, but its not his fault; because the drum set that was provided for the event was kids size drum set, therefore it was half the size the set the drummer was used to. And for some reason it sounds like my guitar is out of tune when I back up the singer during the bridge before the chorus, but it sounds fine on the original copy of this clip so I'm guessing its YouTubes fault, hehe. Enjoy, 楽ããã§ããï½ï¼ï¼ï¼
